Caterham Superlight R300 – Original Demonstrator

The K-Series Superlight R300 is widely regarded as one of, if not the best model ever to be released by Caterham Cars. Its power, grip, balance, responsiveness and soundtrack all contribute to its overall perfection.

This particular example was actually one of Caterham’s origianl press car demonstrators, and as such it was fully loaded with options, and was one of the very first of these iconic cars.

In its first year with Caterham, it clocked up 22,000 miles, before being sold to its first private owner. Since then, it has only covered that same distance again, and has been with it’s most recent keeper for the last 16 years.

In 2022, the engine underwent a strip and rebuild with Team Leos and Hellier Performance, totalling just shy of £7,000. However since then, it has covered just 700 miles.

The bodywork could benefit from a little bit of TLC, but present’s well from a feet away. This car then would lend itself to someone who is looking for something they dont want to be too precious about, or someone looking for a bit of a light project, that they can put their own personal mark on.

Either way, the foundations of this car are excellent, with briliant providence and one of the most enjoyable Sevens, ever created.
