This 1600 Super Seven, which is sadly no longer available from Caterham’s new range due to engine supply issues, is an absolute beauty. Painted in metallic Racing green with the traditional yellow noseband and bonnet stripe, and fitted with Caterham’s retro flared wheel arches and silver Minilite alloys, this is a glorious modern version of the iconic classic Caterham.
The interior also has a excellent balance of old and new. The comfortable new leather seats, styled to provide a classic feel, paired to a retro dashboard with chrome surround Tims dials and a wooden rimmed, stainless steel steering wheel from Motolita. The interior certianly makes you feel like you are behind the wheel of a classic.
Under the bonnet, the 1.6 Ford Sigma engine is fitted to Jenvey throttle bodies, styled to look like classic carburettors. These provide an awesome soundtrack, with dramatic induction noise, whilst performing like a modern engine should. This car oozes character from all angles.
With less than 1800 miles on the clock, this three year old Super Seven is like brand new. So if what you are looking for is the classic car experience, without any of the anxietly which comes with owning a very old car, this has to be the car for you.
