Caterham 1600 Tracksport

This great looking Seven has been built up as a road legal track day car. Fitted with a revy 1600 K-Series engine producing around 130bhp, and mated to Caterham’s famous 6-speed close ratio gearbox, it has all the character and performance you could want for a fun and incredibly capable trackday toy.

The full Superlight roll cage provides the ultimate protection for exploring the many circuits around the UK or abroad should you really wish to go exploring. Within the stripped-out cockpit, you will find a pair of light weight composite seats with 4 point harness to keep you lashed to the car, and In front of you, a 26cm diameter quick release suede MOMO steering wheel, which provides the most incredible feel of the road surface under the tyres.

This Seven started its life as a starter kit, and was originally registered and SVA’d in 2004 with a 1700 X-flow engine. The owner before last had the car professionally rebuilt using a number of brand new components including the 1600 K-Series engine fitted to the car now. This was re-mapped by K-Maps to improve the torque and power curve and has covered just 2800 miles since. While on with the rebuild, the owner at the that time fitted a number of other non-standard components, each of which were designed to improve either the performance or maintenance of the car. These include a GPS based speedometer accompanies by a digital dashboard, as well as a custom long range fuel tank with external fuel pump and a rear diffuser.

This really is a great example of a focused Caterham, built for a purpose and good at what it does. It’s pretty to, finished in metallic starlight black with a hydro-dipped nosecone for carbon fibre effect, bright orange roll cage, and the classic “Caterham Motorsport” decals laid across the bonnet grooves.

As a road going trackday vehicle, this car will come with a standard service, fresh MOT and pre-delivery inspection report. Any imperfections found during the standard service which do not prevent the car from passing and MOT will be detailed in the report as recommendations for the future owner. This car will not come with a warranty as a trackday vehicle.
