Mazda MX5 RS Edition

The RS Limited was a special model produced for the Japanese market during 1994. Production was limited to 500 and the specification was one of the highest seen on a Roadster at the time. RS Limited was based on the S-Special so featured Bilstein suspension, a yellow front tower brace, and 15″ BBS multi-spoke alloy wheels.

For improved acceleration and response from the 1.8 engine, a lightened flywheel and higher 4.3 final drive ratio were used. The exterior was given the exclusive Montego Blue Mica paintwork. This is one of those colours that looks subtly different under various lighting conditions, moving between dark blue and green shades. There was a red “RS” decal fitted above the side repeater on the passenger side wing.

This RS Edition was imported to the UK in 1997. The most recent owner of two years, has spent a little over £3,500 having the typically rusty areas taken care of, as well as having the car properly serviced, including a cambelt and waterpump replacement. So this rare Mk1 is fine fettle and ready to be taken out and enjoyed.

This is a part-exchange to clear, and as such we have not put it through our workshop and wont be supplying it with a warranty. However with one having just sold privately for a little over £10,000, it makes for an excellent opportunity to pick up an iconic, and nearly classic, sports car.
