The K-Series Superlight R400 superceeded the Superlight R, one of the most highly regarded Caterhams in history.

At 200bhp, the 1.8L K-Series engine powering this Seven is one of the most characterful engines ever used in the Caterham range. Raucous and wild, yet reliable and drivable. The roller barrel throttle bodies not only make the throttle response razor sharp but also produce one of the best soundtracks of any four-cylinder engine ever. The high lift cams really come into their own as you pass 5000rpm and pull all the way up to 8000rpm, at which point the close ratio 6-speed gearbox allows you to pull another gear, dropping you right back into that sweet zone as the engine pulls again.

Fully equipped with all of Caterhams most popular options, this is a complete “full-fat” edition of one of the most impressive models ever to leave the Darford factory.

At this point in time Caterham produced far more Series 3 chassis than SV’s, particularly when it came to their more powerful range. As such, this is one of very few K-Series Superlight R400’s made in the larger chassis. Not only is this model rare, but this particular car may well be the lowest mileage and best preserved Superlight R400 of its era. Having had just two owners, covering less than 6000 miles in all that time, and having been dry stored for the last 8 years, this car is as close to new as anyone could hope to find.
