Caterham Superlight R300 SV

The Superlight R300 originally came to the market in 2003 with the Rover K-Series engine. At the time it marked a step change in Caterhams Superlight range bringing together the lessons learnt from the original Superlight and Superlight R models to create the perfect Caterham. The result was the most popular Caterham ever produced to this day.

This “Gen 2” Superlight R300 using the 2.0L Ford Duratec engine retains the idealised performance figures of circa 300bhp per tonne, but with a level of refinement above the original R300. This particular example has also been fitted with Caterham’s “Stage 1” upgrade, which includes the roller barrel throttle boddies and increases the power to 195bhp.

The updated dashboard and switchgear brings a real sense of modernism to this 50’s engineering masterpiece and the torque produced by the Duratec engine offers a drivability factor which was hard to find from the previous Rover power plant.

This striking Ferrari Fez Red Superlight R300 SV offers superb performance and usability, with looks to die for. The larger chassis provides additional space for both the driver and passenger, as well as offering a longer range from the larger fuel tank and more luggage capacity.
