This Roadsport SV is one of the best kept examples we have seen in recent years.
This Roadsport has been fitted with Caterham’s standard 1.6L K-Series engine, however thanks to an ECU upgrade by KMAPS this car actually has close to 135bhp, and a little more fiz than the standard engine. This offers a slight improvement to the mid range torque and pulls all the way to 7400rpm.
This engine is paired with the standard 5 speed gearbox, offering nicely spread ratios. Unusually however, this example was fitted with a shorter 3.9 open differential, a ratio typically only found in Supersports or Superlights with LSD’s. The effect this has is to shortern the overall gear ratios, making the car accelerate faster and arguably more suitable for the kind of use Caterham’s usually have.
Otherwise, this Roadsport is covered in all of the usual niceties you will find in a road going Caterham. The full weather equipment is all in excellent condition, and is accompanied by comfortable leather seats, a heater and a driver side lowered floor for a little more space.
Some other features on this car which are less common are the Watts-linkage and adjustable rear anti-roll bar. These were additional options offered by Caterham which refined the driving experience and enabled the user to make minor adjustments to the way the car feels and behaves. These provide a lovely extra to this car, and make it a real drivers edition.
Finished in Caterham’s Exocet Red with a metallic Gold noseband, with black and diamond cut 14″ minilite alloys and beautifully kept bright pack options, this Roadsport is a real head turner. If condition is what drives you, this example is as good as you will find anywhere.
