Caterham Roadsport 125

Powered by Ford’s 1.6L Sigma engine, used across their range for years, this entry level Caterham is extremely dependable and provides ample performance for the majority of circumstances.

As well as the performance, this highly refined engine also provides fantastic drivability, with a smooth production of power throughout the rev range and a fantastic noise from the cone air filter and short 4-into-1 exhaust system. Caterham also saw fit to have the engines mapped to pop and burble at low RPM, contributing enormously to the entertaining driving experience.

This Roadsport, in Vintage green with yellow decal kit and 14″ Minilite alloys, makes for the absolute classic, traditional Caterham image. The 125 makes for a sublime Caterham engine. They are super easy to drive thanks to their smooth power delivery, with plenty of mid range torque. And they also provide plenty of character, thanks to their engine map, which sees them pop and burble at low rpm while slowing down. This particular example has covered very few miles by just one loving owner from new, and has been excellently looked after with barely a mark on it. The Roadsports were renowned for being superbly comfortable thanks to soft, non-adjustable Caterham Bilstein Roadsport suspension and plush leather seats. Add in some weather gear, a heater and carpeted interior, and you have one of the most usable Caterhams ever made.

If you are looking for a great traditional looking Seven to enjoy out on the open roads, they don’t come much better than this.
