Caterham Roadsport 120

The Roadsport 120 is effectively the pre-prequel to the 270S, with the Sigma Roadsport 125 plugging the gap. These cars were highly refined by Caterham to be the best overall package for someone who just wanted a nice, comfortable, characterful road bais Seven. And boy did they get it right.

There are a miriad of options which can be added to a Sevens’ spec, and all of them have an impact on the way the cars feel and behave. The combination found on every standard Roadsport or S spec car, are exactly what you need if your intended purpose is almost exclusively road bias.

These K-Series engines had a wonderfully sweet sound track to them as the revs build, and due to having a very short piston stroke, they love to rev. As you pass the 4,500RPM mark, the engine note totally changes, as the character of the engine goes from calm and dosile, to a snarling animal about to pounce on it’s unwitting prey. They really do such a good job of bringing out the 10 year old in us all.

This Roadsport is a bit like going back in time. With just one owner from new in 2006, this Roadsport 120 has covered just 2,200 miles in all it’s life and has had absolutley no modifications to the original factory spec. Complete with all of its original order documentation, this is surely the closest example you could buy to a brand new K-Series Roadsport and was also one of the last to leave the production line.
