Caterham 420R F225

The 420R is widely regarded as Caterham’s best overall model from their current range. Its naturally-aspirated 2.0L Duratec engine provides awesome power, sharp throttle response and excellent drivability to go with Caterham’s superb Seven chassis.

This 420R is a step above. Whilst Caterham are manufacturers of a terrific product, everything they do has to work to a budget which enables them to sell their products and cover their overheads. Although even out of the box these cars are spectacular, it is always possible to make improvements and refine them with the right knowledge and budget.

With no budget constraints then, this car has made a couple of visits to well-known Caterham engine builder, Premier Power, who have not just improved the power output and drivability, but also made significant improvements to the oil and cooling systems. Furthermore, this car has had meticulous attention on ensuring the handling is as good as it can be, with regular geometry calibration and a recent differential rebuild.

This is then, in effect, an open chequebook 420R, honed and refined to an incredible level.
