Almost a dead ringer for a current 420R SV!

The Supersport R replaced the Superlight R300 as Caterham's "sporty" entry level Duratec offering. Following the success of the Supersport, launched two years earlier with the 1.6L Sigma, it became natural progression that there was a more powerful option available. The Supersport R immediately became our biggest seller at the time. 

The torquey 2.0L Duratec engine, with the "sprint speed" 5 speed gearbox ratios, thanks to the shortened 3.9 limited slip differential, made for a perfected combination to unlock some of the most satisfying driving you could imagine. Hightened further by Caterham's light weight flywheel, stiffer track suspension and uprated brake master cylinder, these Supersports really earnt their name.  

This 2013 example has been build in Caterham's larger chassis, and painted in pearlescent Lamborghini Burnt Orange. Early in its life, it had Caterham's R400 upgrade (now known as the 420 upgrade) to 210bhp!
Completed with all the more comfortable road bias options, like leather seat, heater and weather equipment, this car is as comfortable on European road trips as it would be on a race track.
